With the rapid evolution of IP networks and the worldwide internet in particular, E-learning has become fast growing market sector within the Education Industry. Many people are taking advantage of online classes to continue their education and develop their career prospects whilst maintaining full time employment. More and more Educational institutions have decided to take the concept of E-learning to a higher level.

Shandong Educational Institute located in Ji Nan has many campuses throughout China. The board of directors for Shandong Educational Institute wanted to consolidate their resources while reducing costs. They decided to implement a video conferencing system for all of their campuses. Their concept was to install video conferencing endpoints into their classrooms so that one professor could lecture to up to 20 different geographic locations at the same time. In order for this to work successfully Shandong needed a VC solution which would support up to 20 sites at 768kbps with dual video capabilities, to ensure that the professor could display the subject matter he was lecturing on.
